Progress in the yard

Charles put in the sprinkler system for the garden and the back. Now we are waiting for the irrigation water to be turned on so he can make sure everything works before he buries them. In this first picture you can see the shape of our yard. The angled corner at the front of the picture shows the border of the grass. Behind that, in the back corner of the yard, will be a garden area and some trees.

The patio area is prepared for pavers and Charles has brought in dirt and leveled out the yard.
We planted fruit trees! We have an apricot tree and a plum tree. The south side of our yard will eventually be our garden. Here Charles was digging up the sprinkler system to learn how to get sprinklers to the back.

The girls and I planted bulbs in the fall and we have all liked watching them bloom. The daffodils are clear in this picture. The croci have bloomed. They can be seen if you click on the picture to see the big version. We are watching for the tulips and hyacinths.

Kids say the cutest things

Sunday morning the doorbell rang. Eli ran to the door and said "I bet it's the Bishop." (The Bishop is our home teacher, so it is reasonable to think so.) He peeked out the window and saw the young men in suits there to collect fast offerings. Eli said "Yep, it's the bishopses."

A few days ago Erica was quizzing Ethan on math. She asked him what 11x12 was. He came up with many answers. Charles told them the answer (132, for those of you who aren't as fast as Charles). Ethan said "Dad, you're really smart." Erica said to Ethan, "Of couse he's smart. He is our father. He knows everything." They both continued quizzing Charles on math (326 + 543) for several minutes afterwards.

Ethan is learning to play the piano. He enjoys playing his "piano lessons." Here he is playing Merrily We Roll Along.

Here is Ethan playing his own song.
